WORD OF LIFE

Word of Life is a new program written by Augustine Institute and collaborated by Ignatius Press. It is the recommended curriculum by the Diocese of Rapid City. It covers a full K-8 range of grades and is adopted and shortened from the fuller Catholic school version! The main themes of this program are Salvation History, Christian Anthropology, Heroic Virtue, and Discipleship.

The Augustine Institute writes about their program, "Word of Life catechizes both the head and the heart. When you teach the faith as information, students forget it. When you teach the faith as the answer to their deepest longings, students treasure it. Word of Life forms students in a Catholic worldview. They read Scripture. They learn from beautiful, intellectually rigorous textbooks. They bring resources home to share with their parents." This curriculum is accompanied by a digital and interactive version of the book, additional parent and student resources to form the whole family along with the child, and access to FORMED, a Catholic video platform that we have free access to as a parish!
