Preparation for Infant Baptism…

We do hope that those requesting baptism for their infants and children are registered members of our parish community who are practicing and participating in the sacramental life of the community.

Preparation for baptism consists of attendance by the parents of a baptismal class.  The class is offered monthly, rotating locations between St. Joseph & St. Paul.  Baptisms are a community event and are scheduled to take place during Mass.  Private baptisms are allowed under special circumstances.  Parents are asked to arrange that their chosen sponsors are present or arrange for proxies.  Sponsors (Godparents) need to have at least one practicing Catholic who is Confirmed in the Catholic faith. 

Anyone not belonging to our parish community, requesting to baptize here needs to present a letter of permission from their local pastor.  All baptisms must be scheduled in advance thru the church office.
