BEREAVEMENT PROGRAM
An eight-week non-denominational support group open to all Christian adults who have suffered through the death of a loved one.

BIRTHRIGHT
Birthright is an ecumenical ministry which provides pregnancy testing, counseling for unwed women and assistance with maternity clothes and layettes.

CATHOLIC ENGAGED ENCOUNTER
This is a weekend retreat for engaged or newly married couples with a focus on developing a mutual faithful and permanent marriage relationship.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS
The Diocesan school system consists of four Catholic schools:  St. Thomas Moore (Rapid City), St. Elizabeth Seton (Rapid City), Our Lady of Lourdes (Porcupine) and Red Cloud Indian School (Pine Ridge).  There are no Catholic schools in Spearfish.

CATHOLIC SOCIAL SERVICES
Catholic Social Services assists people of all faiths in Western South Dakota.  Their ministry includes counseling services provided by licensed professional counselors on a sliding fee.  Other services include:  adoption services, post-legal adoptive services, pregnancy counseling for birth parents and crisis pregnancy services.  Catholic Social Services is available at St. Joseph Church on Monday and Wednesday.  Call 348-6086 to make an appointment.

MARRIAGE TRIBUNAL
The Catholic Church, because it acknowledges marriage as a holy covenant which is entered into for life, holds that certain elements are essential to make the marriage valid.  Church Tribunal is a judicial forum which functions according to the Code of Canon Law.  The Tribunal functions under the supervision of the judicial vicar who represent the bishop, oversees the study and appoints a judge to render a decision regarding the sacramental nature of validity of the previous bond.

NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING MINISTRY
Provides information concerning natural family planning.  Attendance at a Christian Family Planning Seminar is required for all engaged couples and encouraged for married couples.

PRO-LIFE COMMISSION
Promotes awareness, education, legislation, prayer and pastoral care on pro-life issues.

RACHEL’S VINEYARD
A weekend retreat for any woman or man who has struggled with the emotional or spiritual pain of an abortion.

RETROUVAILLE
Weekends for couples in a hurting marriage.

RIGHT TO LIFE
Fights abortion thru media and legislation.

SEPARATED, DIVORCED SUPPORT GROUP
A support group for those who are separated or divorced.

WEST RIVER CATHOLIC NEWSPAPER
The diocesan monthly newspaper is mailed to all registered members of the parish free of charge.

WORLDWIDE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER
Provides activities and weekend retreats for couples to enrich and maintain their good relationships.
